Korin Korin Child & Family Centre

About our centre

Korin Korin Child & Family Centre is a sessional kindergarten that Kids First proudly operates.

The early childhood education and care service opened 2016 in Wollert, a growth corridor of Whittlesea, Victoria. Our kindergarten program is in partnership with the City of Whittlesea.

The Centre uniquely applies many best practice elements derived from Kids First specialised and targeted Early Years Education Program. These include enhanced educator training, preschool mental health consults, staff supervision and coaching and integrated support services for families.

The Monash Centre of Health Research and Implementation at Monash University evaluated the implementation of best practice elements at Korin Korin with funding support for the evaluation provided by the National Australia Bank Foundation.  The evaluation report shows that staff at the Centre feel well supported by the training, supervision and coaching provided to them. The support provided to families through the Coffee Club has been successful in building the capacity of parents.

"The training provided to Korin Korin educators is exceptional, unique within the sector, rigorous and purposeful. Educators are enabled to consider their professional practice, improve their responsiveness to vulnerable children and enhance their engagement and ability to connect with families. This includes a deep understanding of Kids First service philosophy and the referral programs available for children and families within Kids First." Korin Korin Educator
