At Kids First we love volunteers and the incredible experience, skills and enthusiasm they bring to roles alongside our staff. Without the generosity and energy of volunteers we could not provide our range of programs or continue to expand our work across the community.
Why volunteer?
Volunteering is an excellent way of making a difference in your local community. By working with us you’re choosing an innovative and vital organisation with a range of services that are effective and accessible by anyone in the north east of Melbourne.

Who can volunteer
We encourage people of all ages, who have a broad range of life experiences, to become a volunteer.
We look for these personal attributes:
- Enthusiasm to assist people
- Reliability, honesty and commitment
- Good communication skills and flexibility
- Willingness to undergo a Police check and Working with Children’s check
In return, we offer:
- A detailed position description and volunteer agreement
- Induction, orientation and training
- Support and mentoring
