Give in Memory

Many people ask for donations instead of sending flowers for a funeral or in memory of someone they love. If you wish to make a one-off in-memory donation, you can:

Organising a collection at a memorial or funeral

Kids First understands that the loss of a loved one is a very challenging and difficult time. If you have lost a loved one and wish to set up a donation in memory, we can assist in organising this for you.

If you are arranging a funeral, you can ask the funeral director to provide you with Kids First in-memory donation envelopes. If they are unable to help, please call 03 9450 0900 during office hours to register your loved one's memorial, or email communications with the details. Kids First provides donation envelopes that will assist in making the donation process easier for your family and friends attending the service. These will be sent via post within three working days. A letter will accompany the envelopes outlining how to return the donations to us.

Once Kids First has received all of the donations from the memorial, we will send all donors tax-deductible receipts for donations $2 and over. We will also send the nominated family member an acknowledgement with the tallied amount donated in memory (for privacy reasons we do not disclose individual donations amounts).

Requesting donations instead of flowers

If you would like people to make a donation to Kids First instead of sending flowers, we suggest you make an announcement in the death notice. For example: 'Donations in lieu of flowers to Kids First would be appreciated.'
